Web version of the course Introduction to Mobile Technology and Business

1. Introduction
This memorandum concerns production of the course “Introduction to Mobile Technology and Business” into remotely accessible form based on WWW technologies, the web course organization, remote learning process, costs of the modification, and financial, technical and personnel resources needed.
2. Pedagogic goals for the web course
The learning goals are the same as for the live course at JYU and the teaching methods are the same. The main teaching method are lectures and demonstrations. There will be 4 hours lectures/week and 2 hour demonstrations each week (except during the first week there will be no demos).

Reaching the goals are also controlled in the same way by a final exam. Each solved problem in demonstration brings in (4) points that can be added to the final exam result (max 24 points).
3. Resources and schedule
3.1 Resources
Personnel at JUY
-professor giving the lectures (JV)
- two assistant professors supervising the local demos (NN and MW)
- a camera operator capturing the lectures
- a planner putting together the final Web material accessible on the platform

Technical infrastructure at JYU
- digital video camera and further recording system, unless the camera is capable of storing 90 minutes of video stream for the lecture.
- technical server platform where the material can be stored and through which it can be remotely distributed. This is connected to the JYU network. The candidates are currently Optima, Moodle or Peda.net. Which is used depends on the interoperable infrastructure at ITMO and the unit preparing the material.
